Decker Construction Company, Columbus Ohio

Decker Construction Company was started in Columbus, Ohio in the 1950's by Ed Decker. The company continued to operate after it was bought in the 1960's by Marble Cliff Quarries and later by Medusa Aggregate Company. In 1981, Roger Apple and Fritz Smith, both employees of Marble Cliff Quarries, purchased the assets from Medusa and reincorporated in the name of Decker Construction Company. Over the years, our company has grown, along with our reputation for providing a service that far exceeds today's standards. Decker Construction Company operates within a five-county area in central Ohio. Decker Construction Company specializes in a vast array of services which includes: Asphalt Paving, Asphalt Maintenance, Asphalt Milling, RCC Pavement, Concrete, and New Construction dealing with widening, excavation, and storm sewers. Decker Construction Company completes approximately 350 commercial and public projects per year.

At our peak, Decker Construction Company employs approximately 150 employees, with four paving crews, four stone crews, six maintenance crews, six concrete crews, and four excavation crews. Decker Construction Company along with its subsidiary companies offers a vast array of services from public and commercial asphalt paving to concrete wheelchair ramps.

The Apple-Smith Corporation provides asphalt materials year round from our McKinley Avenue batch plant.

The Greensboro Corporation dba FLASH-FILL manufactures and distributes a fast setting flowable fill material that can be paved on in 30 minutes, and is easily excavated if necessary. It is used for utility cut repair.
