RCC Paving

Decker Construction is a premier Roller Compaction Concrete or RCC installer. This durable paving material carries heavy loads and is now evolving as a fast, economical construction method for dams, off-highway pavement projects, heavy-duty parking, storage areas, and as a base for conventional asphalt pavement.

RCC is a stiff zero-slump concrete mixture with the consistency of damp gravel and is created using local aggregates or crushed recycled concrete, portland cement, and water. The mixture is put in place with a paver and roller, the same commonly available equipment used for asphalt pavement construction. The process requires no forms, no finishing, and no surface texturing whatsoever. Because of its low water-cement ratio, RCC typically produces a high strength that is often greater than that of conventional concrete. Its high-strength properties combined with ease of construction and high rate of production often make it a smart, cost-effective alternative to flexible pavement. And because it was originally developed for the logging industry, RCC has demonstrated impressive resistance to freezing and thawing.

Decker Construction’s knowledgeable staff would be pleased to provide guidance for RCC applications, accurately estimate projects and fulfill construction contracts of all sizes.
